A couple of weeks ago I stumbled upon a Flickr group put together by Emily at Mommys Naptime and Elaine at Dashasel Sews. What a great resource this group is for pouch ideas, construction tips, and beautiful blogs of like-minded people who create these little works of art. I love small project ideas and seeing all of the creativity people put into making these small individualized pouches and decided it would be fun to participate!!
What to make?????
My daughter has had a little elf for many years. Her elf has been her favorite stuffed toy in her collection and the one that gets to sleep on her bed. During a recent trip to Barnes and Noble, I couldn’t stop myself from picking up a second elf for our house and decided to make a bag that would house the new “Elfette on a Shelf”. My entry is made using a pattern in the book “Zakka Style” with a few modifications. I pulled some red linen from my stash and purchased a bundle of Riley Blake “Santa’s Workshop” fatquarters.

Patchwork Wristlet (Week 2)
This is my new applique tool pouch! I can finally get rid of the nasty plastic bag that they used to be stored in. The pattern is by Ayumi and she has a wonderful tutorial on her website Pink Penguin on how to make this little pouch!

I must not let my daughters see the Elf pouch, or they will want one for their elf, too
. In our house I don’t let them touch the elf (his magic will wear off) but that is the sweetest little pouch for carrying around other holiday friends, like stuffed reindeer and snowmen.
I have made Ayumi’s pouch before and I love it. Yours turned out super cute!
